97 Cavalier Tranny Change Bearings Suspectr1bourg 04-17-2009, 12:15 AM Last fall I changed the worn out wheel bearings on my Cavalier only to find I had a similar noise that made me change the bearings in the first place. I then changed the CV joints only to find I still had a noise. Now both wheel bearings are shot again. I brought it to a garage and the said yes the wheel bearings are shot. I thought maybe it was faulty bearings. Anyway I'm convinced it is the 2.2 auto tranny that's the problem. The tranny is not that expensive. I have not changed a tranny. Can someone shed light and let me know how difficult a job I might be looking at. I know I got to pull the CV's . Will this unit come out easy once unbolted? Do you pull up or lower it down??
