timing problem 1992 accordjimneo 04-16-2009, 02:28 PM need info on how to adjust timing on a 1992 accord please help mpumas 04-17-2009, 01:23 AM First jumper the service connector, then connect a timng light to the no. 1 spark plug wire. Remove the rubber plug near the flywheel. Start the engine and let it warm up. Point the timing light into the inspection hole near the flywheel and look for a pointer and red and white mark on the flywheel/drive plate. Proper timing is when the red mark is under the pointer. (The white mark is TDC.) Timing is changed (adjusted) by loosening the 3 bolts on the distributor and rotating the distributor. (Timing is controlled by the computer and adjustment is not normally requiired unless it is well out of the range that the computer can control.) Turn off the engine and remember to remove the service connector jumper. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
