97 Trans Sport Key Fob Help Please!!!

We recently purchased a used 97 Pontiac Trans Sport and cannot get the key fobs nor the power side door to work. When we went to look at this vehicle we couldn't open the side door, pulling the handle made a clicking sound. You could only reach inside and open it from inside the vehicle. The one key fob worked for locking/unlocking at initial viewing of the vehicle. Wanted to take a test drive but battery was dead so we went back the next day to do such.
Anyways got the van home and neither key fob works at all. Replaced batteries, still nothing. I've tried the instructions in the manual and found on here but still nothing. Went to GM dealer where we bought is "as is" and they were very unhelpful and rude and said they could schedule an appt but it could take several billed hours of investigation to get them working again!!!!!
If anyone could help me getting the key fobs and/or power door working again it would be so much appreciated!!!!
