My wife's 99 Century has been randomly turning on the security light either while driving or just after start up. It has been turning on more frequently lately and shes having a hard time starting it because she has to wait the 3mins for it to reset. Any suggestions? Owners manual says take it to the dealer, but im sure its some stupid sensor that needs resetting or something. Any help would be appreciated

I don't know how on or off I might be, but I'll throw my little 2 cents in :) -On my 01 Century, theres that stupid little chip built in the ignition key, and ever so often, i think it gets dirty- which causes the security light to come on and block the engine from starting. So Ill use some hand sanitizer and lighty clean the metal contacts on each side of the chip on the key. After that it usually works, and the engine cranks right up. Now, I've never had the security light come on while driving tho, but wanted to share that little tidbit, in case you didn't already know. Good luck!

Yeah we have cleaned the key and even used our second key and had the same outcome. The funny thing is that it has a remote car starter, and yesterday the key wouldnt work so i started it with the car starter no problem. Put the key in the ignition (the same one i had tried 30seconds earlier) turned it to run and we were off to the races...So far so good since yesterday morning and still using the key to start it.
