4-Door ZR2 Pickup?GMLoyalist 04-15-2009, 02:27 AM Hey all... I've got a '99 ZR2 extended cab pickup and it needs a few rust spots fixed. Okay, it needs a new box, cab corners, and doors. But enough about that. All the sheet metal in front of the cab is new, thanks to a deer. There's a guy at work with a ZR5, same color as mine. I'd love to take that 4-door cab and short box and put it on my ZR2 frame. But things are never that simple in my experience... has anybody here seen a 4-door body on a ZR2 frame? I'm sure I'd have to modify the box and cab mounts, but other than that I don't know what else might be involved. And no, the ZR5 is NOT the same suspension package, unless you own one and can really tell me otherwise. Besides, I've already put several thousand into rebuilding the suspension to factory condition. I'm hoping this guy's engine blows and sells it for cheap (or maybe not... my 4.3 has 203K on it.) Yes it has been done before, twice that I know of and the frame has to be extended. Its a ton of work but looks killer when done. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
