97 Geo Metro LSI Auto 4cyl TIMING??Zechariah 04-06-2009, 06:12 PM I have a '97 Geo Metro LSI Auto trans 4cyl And I can't figure this out. View my other post here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=932993 I checked the timing and this is what it was set at when I first got the car: http://gladshopper.com/pt2/small.jpg Then I set it to the 5 mark on that plastic plate then it got to where I could step on the gas rapidly and the engine would die. So now I set it back and its better, but still doesn't seem like it's fast enough. In the Pic above, is that where the timing should be??? Thanks, ~Zechariah brivers 04-06-2009, 06:45 PM It looks as though your timing belt is off one tooth. Zechariah 04-06-2009, 08:04 PM Okay, so would that cause it to be slow to accelerate? Thanks, ~Zechariah Johnny Mullet 04-06-2009, 10:17 PM Yes it would. We asked you about that in the other thread. We also informed you that 150 PSI is below factory minimum of 156 PSI. This may be related to the timing belt off. Zechariah 04-06-2009, 10:58 PM Okay, thanks I'll check this out tomorrow. ~Zechariah B.T.W. does anyone have some online instructions on how to correct the timing belt? Thanks Woodie83 04-07-2009, 06:09 AM http://www.teamswift.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=26588 Found in the index right above your post, took 30 seconds. Zechariah 04-07-2009, 10:50 AM Thanks Zechariah 04-09-2009, 05:16 PM Wow it was off 3 teeth, fixed it and now it's running much better.
