dome, brake, electrical 2002 savana

When I press the brakes, the brake lights, dome light and the door chimes come on. It had trailer lights which I removed, now I test power that was feeding trailer light connector and it is doing what dome light should do. Open door, there is power. Close door, power fades off in about 8 secs. there are no dome lights working when Door is opened or closed. Can someone help. Totally LOST
