I took the van to auto zone for diagnostic and he said it's almost always the coil. Yet unlike most other vans my owner manual says I have EDIS not coil on plug. Which is the number 3 cylinder, is it difficult to access and can a non mechanic fix this? If I have to move a lot of stuff to get at the coil rack should I replace the whole thing? so far I haven't even been able to come up with a part number. Thanks! (total rookie)

http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/EDIS.htm I would check your plug and ohm the plug wire. Normally you would loose two cylinders.

Starting from the front its usually 1-3-5-7 and 2-4-6-8 on the other side but can be different. Use the manual they have a picture with each plug numbered. A lot of intakes are stamped with a number and the coil is numbered.
