I'm not sure exactly where you are,
But down here in Oztralia, we have a lot of imports. We don't have the NSR250 as there would be no market for a two stroke. noisey little annoying fockers!

Our bike shops import container loads and repaint them new colours and sell them off as "2009 models" to unsuspecting learners. One company even does plastics to make a CBR250R from 1989 look like a 2009 CBR1000RR!

I'd say you'll have trouble with spare parts as well as trying to sell it later.

Of all the bikes we have imported, they all need new brakes and a fair amount of work to get them up to ride quality. to get a decent one you may as well buy local by the time you have it complied with your state regs. I can't imagine the DMV will let you import any old thing and ride it without taking their cut of the action.

We do have the NSR150 and its an annoying little scooter. learners love them because they look and sound like a GP bike but are really quite slow.

Wow another Aussie.......

I just got back from Adelaide. I came back diseased! :runaround: (got the flu)

Stick with what you can easily get parts for and service. If you import it yourself, you'll need to comply it too which may be costly.

I saw your other post with the 2002 gixer for $3k.
Don't buy on price alone. I sold my 2003 954 for $9500 because it was in excellent condition. A $3k version would be utter crap or stolen.
