Changing a front light

Prospective Lucerne buyers or duped owners like me, in order to change a front directional light or low/high beam in a Lucerne, you have to REMOVE the BUMPER to get the light assembly out. Inaddtion to the bumper, the grill, and inner plastic fender need to be removed, and various other components. They seem to have started with the headlights, and built the car around them.
I have the instructions in Word format but have no clue how to post it. PM me if you want it and a way to get it to you.

I HATE this car.

If you are only changing the bulbs, you are going about this the wrong way. You do NOT need to remove all of the above to replace a head light bulb.
Remove either the LF or RF headlamp capsule assembly. Refer to Headlamp Replacement.

I hate responding to the mentally challenged, but Sir, and I use that term loosely, your post does not offer any information, except "remove either the LF or RF headlight "capsule" assembly. The information (and TIPS) you supply apply only AFTER the headlight assembly is removed, and in order to remove these components you have to do the following:

Preliminary Procedures

• Remove front compartment sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement .
• Remove the front retainers from the wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
• Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
1
Front Fascia Bolt (Qty: 2)
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Tip
Access the bolt through the wheel opening.
Tighten
10 N·m (89 lb in)
2
Front Fascia Nut (Qty: 2)
Tip
Access the nut through the wheel opening. Loosen nut to allow stud to slide in keyhole slot in the fender flange.
Tighten
10 N·m (89 lb in)
3
Front Fascia Retainer (Qty: 2)
4
Front Fascia Retainer (Qty: 2)
5
Front Fascia
Procedure

1. Disconnect the fog lamp electrical connectors. Pull out on the fascia to release the tabs on the energy absorber to the impact bar. Energy absorber is attached to the front fascia.
2. With an assistant, pull fascia forward to disengage front fascia reinforcements under headlamps and allow extraction of studs from keyhole slots in the fenders.

As you say, you have to remove the "headlight (capsules??)", I assume you mean the headlight assembly, and the ONLY way to do THAT is to remove the bumper fascia as outlined above. That is why they do not even tell you how to change a front bulb in the owners manual. It is a dealer item.

I HAVE changed the headlights in my Lucerne, and this is the only way to do it. IF you have tiny little hands like a 10 year old little girl, you might, just might, be able to reach up from the bottom of the vehicle and change the low beam only. Still you have to remove the bottom air deflector, and will risk damaging the halogen bulb.

There are a couple of shortcuts: You do not need to remove the entire wheel housing. Simply remove the four front plastic clips and you can pull the housing back to get at the bumper fascia to fender bolt.

You do not have to remove the bumper fascia completely. You do not need an assistance to help remove it, as it will hang loosely enough to be able to pull it back and remove the headlight assembly

GM allows 0.8 HR to change one bulb under warranty.
