front bumper 1984-87 Civic - saloon/hatchbackjazzyman 03-17-2009, 10:30 AM any idea if the front bumpers are the same for a 1984-87 Honda Civic saloon and hatchback? I have an offer of a new one for a saloon and I have a hatchback. lxndr 03-18-2009, 04:16 AM I'm not sure what a Civic Saloon is, but there are slight differences between the 84-87 sedan, wagon, hatchback and CRX. I believe only the sedan and the hatchback are interchangeable, and I'm sure the CRX bumper is different from the others. lxndr 03-19-2009, 07:58 AM I forgot to mention that some models use different bumpers in different years. The 84-85 bumpers are different from the 86-87 bumpers. motech 03-24-2009, 12:38 PM I've had 1st generation CRX's for quite a few years, and I have also not heard of a Saloon.:banghead: I do however, have a complete 86/87 CRX front and rear bumper and nowhere on the bumpers does it say Saloon. The front and back bumpers for a 84-87 1st generation CRX is typical Gray with A red inlay molding. I believe there is a slight differences from the 84-85 and the 86-87 due to the head light design. If you have a pix of this Saloon, please post it. Thank you.. gotmy86hatch 03-26-2009, 07:58 AM I Googled the Saloon...the sedan was the only picture I could find and it was too small to see details. It looks very close if not identical to the US Civic sedan though. I don't want to give you bad advice, so I would say this: see if the person selling it will take it back if it doesn't fit. jazzyman 03-26-2009, 08:58 PM I guess that the sedan and saloon are one of the same. Checking on the Veng site (Body Part Suppliers for Europe) there are two listed bumper types. The sedan and the hatchback, the main difference from what I can see is that the Hatchback bumper has a lip at the centre top. Hatchback http://www.veng.no/klokkerholm/2907901.jpg Sedan http://www.veng.no/klokkerholm/2907900.jpg So the two bumpers do seem incompatible? :frown: gotmy86hatch 03-26-2009, 11:22 PM Look a little closer...the whole top looks like it's shaped different, the hatchback has the section under the headlights completely cut away and the sedan looks solid the whole way across. Also, the bottom under the vent line is wider on the sedan. Look directly under the turn signal on the hatchback and you'll see a lip on the bottom. Follow it across and you'll see what I mean. It still doesn't mean it won't mount up, but based on these pictures I wouldn't be very optimistic...sorry dude vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
