Hi,

for my John Greenwoods "Stars and Stripes" Corvette, that ran in 1971 in Sebring, I got the wide body from Scale Production, that originally make it a Trans Am Car ( http://www.scaleproduction.de/product_info.php?info=p175_1971-Corvette-Trans-Am.html ).

I decided to make a Custom ´vette

Looks good with that blue, but the stripe looks weird. It must be do to the camera?

Ah no, not the camera, I covered the area blue with a plastic bag as a "brush", so the stripe doesn´t appear smooth

well, my first idea was to use modern wheels to give it a Pro Tourer look, now I think wheels in the 80s style will fit better. When chassis and body are united, I´ll check my wheels-box, to bring the car as much down to the ground as possible

Excellent work on the interior. Hope the windows are closed or else all that cash is going to blow away. Nice job and technique with the stripe too.

The paint effect is stored away for future borrowing ;) I guess after the mottling effect, you sprayed the whole body with one/two light coats and then applied masking tape and finished painting the rest of the body?

You do know that reproducing banknotes is a crime, don't you? ;) :rofl:

The primed body was covered with silver, then the blue was added with the foil.

When dry, the stripe was masked and the body was airbrushed blue. Directly after that I removed the mask and realized, that the contrast was rather big. So I airbrushed some light coats of the body colour over the stripe that the contrast is rather low.

LOL I thought there had to be a coat of body color over the blotting somewhere in the process.

However you did it, I think the result is unusual and great! :thumbsup:

that's a great looking 80's beast. The US flag doorboards look a bit odd, but so doeas the whole car. One could say the interior fits the exterior rather well. Don't forget to put some old DIN plates with HH (Hamburg for those who don't know) for that 80's Reeperbahn look :sunglasse

Everything fits the odd 80's pimp style. The wheels are an excellent fit, but I'd add some GoodYear decals because the flanks look a bit naked.
The door panel looks odd, I think it should go down along the fender flare and not across it:uhoh:
