I just bought a 99 ford ranger. The check engine light went on last night. Took it by discount auto parts and their diagnsotic computer would not work. They didnt know if there was a fuse that might have went out for it to read. It just saying not plugged in when they tried it. Any guesses?

Try a different auto parts store maybe their scanner is broke
