88 civic fan questionhypermaxed 03-08-2009, 10:20 PM i have a werid problem, i have been driving the car just great since i bought it, had great heat and everything, i am driving along last night and all of a sudden, my blower motor stops dead, no hot or cold, i get home and find out that my radiator fans arent working either, i have no idea what it is, i have checked all the fuses, wires. i am not a mechicanic but i know little things to get me through, can someone help me?? if nothing else can someone tell me the hot wires on the fans so i can wire them to an ignition wire so i can just have them switch on, i really need help. thanks hypermaxed 4G4D Store 03-29-2009, 04:39 PM so are you saying that both your radiator and interior heater fan stopped at the same time?? I don't believe those are on the same circuit. And when you checked the fuses did you check the ones under the dash and under the hood? (just checking). I know the radiator fan has it's own relay that if not grounded will cause it to not turn on (could be a bolt loose. As for the heater fan there are a few things. The first thing I would do is see if you even have power to the fan. Right behind the glovebox on the right side you'll see the fan motor and a plug going to it with 2 wires, you should be able to measure these wires and get voltage (i believe a full 12 volts with the fan switch on full blast). If you aren't getting any voltage then it's a wiring issue somewhere. If you are then you're fan just probably died. hypermaxed 03-30-2009, 05:01 AM i got the radiator fan working again, all i needed to do was a new tstat, my blower motor for my heater is not working still, i have done the flow chart, my thinking is since its not getting power even with a ground wire jumper, it wont turn on, i think the power fell off the heater control switch in the back, havent gotten that far yet, didnt wanna rip apart the dash, looks like my only option atm , i dont think its the fan at this time. thanks for the reply Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
