99 nissan altima gxe

Headlight went out, so changed the burnt socket as the bulb was still good..few days later the new socket is burnt pretty bad...HELP???What would cause the new socket to get burnt..should i just change the socket and bulb this time???

I wouldn't think it was the bulb, but it wouldn't hurt to swap it out with the one from the other side. Follow the socket wires you might find a short somewhere
