I have a 1991 chevrolet 350 pickup. Just installed the 350 and took out the 4.3 and was dissappointed in the power gain. Great torque, and faster, but still not fast enough for me haha. Anyway, i'm planning on doing a bunch of upgrades on the motor. Including adding a carb (because its too expensive to keep the TBI and have the cpu tuned for all my upgrades and new injectors, pump, ect...) So what im doing is installing a crane cam and lifters kit, vortec heads, edelbrock carb intake for vortec heads, edelbrock carb, and plan on getting the block built and stroked to 383. My question is has anyone out there converted to a carb from TBI. I've seen adapters for the fuel lines, and know i need a fuel pressure regulator. But what does a factory fuel pump for a 4.3L put out pressure wise? I know if its too high i have to ditch it cause most regulators cant regulate extremely high pressure. Also, what about the distributor? I've read i need an older style HEI but then i've read you can use this one just inhook the wires running to the ecm so it can't try to advance/retard the timing. I know i need new fuel fittings and some fuel lines to make it work, so if anyone has done this swap, and can give me an idea of what else i might need or need to watch out for, let me know please. Thanks.
