89 formula 305 flooding issue

i recently bought a 1989 Pontiac formula ws6 with a 305 tbi and an automatic.the car sat for about 4 years so Ive replaced the fuel pump, rebuilt the pressure regulator, changed the fuel filter and did a full tune up.

the car wont stop flooding itself...it will start up just fine and purr like a kitten idling for about 5-10 min. then it starts running a little rough till finally it dies...it wont start again until you unhook BOTH FUEL INJECTORS and start it...the crazy thing is it runs for about 15sec with the injectors unhooked...why is it flooding so bad?

if the coolant temp sensor malfunctions, it will give false temp readings to the ecm causing the ecm to dump too much fuel, thinking it's really cold when it isn't.

ill try that tomorrow...the temp gauge in the dash works (i don't know if that's related though) but the injectors dont really seem to pulse...if you watch them they act like there on full blast...i just hope its not the injectors ...i hate paying 75 bucks a pop for injectors

no, the temp gauge uses a different sensor. tbi injectors don't pulse. they just spray a cone shaped mist. and even if it is the injectors, you can find a complete tbi unit with injectors for probably less than $50
