I have a 98 Jimmy my key is stuck in ignition. It turns on fine and will shut off but the key can't go back far enough to cut power and remove key I have to unhook battery. Any Help

My truck did this occasionally. When I am sure to shit it completely into park it will turn all the way every time. If I do it lazily it does sometime stick.

There should be a "release hole" on the underside of the column. If the car doesn't think it is in park it will not let you remove the key. There may be more then one reason why it doesn't think it is in park. It may be your neutral safety switch, broken or not adjusted, your ign switch going out or the brake interlock solenoid. Until you get it diagnosed and fixed properly you can stick a small shaft (some use a drill bit or screwdriver) in the "release hole" to release the key. Just make sure you have the car in park.
