pontiac gummed up throttle body

could someone tell me if it is OK to use regular carb cleaner to clean the gummed up throttle body or do i have to use throttle body cleaner? ALSO someone said use laquer thinner? let me know what the BEST process is to clean this.

As long as the carb cleaner says oxygen sensor safe on it, you can use it. I would not use lacquer thinner on it.

Also use your wifes toothbrush for cleaning , not your own ;)

the best thing ive found to use is a gum cutter called 2+2 it works on any thing and it evaporates pretty quick and it's safe on carbs and throtel bodies
