2008 TB Liftglass won't openblazer8696 02-28-2009, 11:32 AM A couple days ago and several hundred miles away I unexpectedly ended up replacing my worn out 1996 Blazer with a used 2008 TrailBlazer. Now that I'm 700 miles from the dealer I've found a problem with the liftglass. The release button can't be pushed and is also deformed. The only other problem is a bent radio antenna and one tiny scratch in the door. The rest is like new. Pictures of the deformed button can be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/blazer8696/3316590910/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/blazer8696/3316587314/ It looks like the only thing preventing it from being pushed is the deformation. How difficult is it to repair? Is it possible I might be able to re-squeeze it into a workable shape? Thanks, Ed Jethro 03-01-2009, 08:23 PM Sitting here at my desk and seeing yor button damage I would say Not gonna happen! Replacement will be necessary! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3074/3316587314_706fdc3468.jpg blazer8696 03-01-2009, 08:35 PM I kinda figured that. The last latch I replaced was on my 86 Blazer. This one won't be that easy. I s'pose it wouldn't hurt to try and get it done under warranty. Taking it back to the dealer I purchased it from won't be possible until September. Any idea what would cause that type of damage? I could swear I've seen something similar before but I can't remember if it was on a car, a major appliance or something else. dselb396 03-04-2009, 11:49 PM that is man made, sum buddy dont like you blazer8696 03-05-2009, 04:20 PM I think somebody didn't like the previous owner or the Chevy dealer I bought it from. It was apparently previously a fleet/rental vehicle. I could bring it back for repair but the dealer is 700 miles away. I don't know if a local dealer will cover it under warranty as it appears more like vandalism than a defect. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
