I have a 1993 s10 truck that might need a new tranny, does anyone know what kind of tranny this truck has? and I was wondering If I can put a turbo 350 in it, and if so what would it I have to do besides just swap them? thanks!

Should have a 4L60E.
Got of changing to a 350 and you will lose OD and a lot of gas mileage.
Are you sure you need another one?
What is the problem with the one that is in it?
Is it 2W or 4W?

Well Im not to sure if the tranny Is Bad. It all started yesterday when I changed the dash with one out of a 86 blazer. I changed the computers out before installing, well The 93 has a digital dash and the 86 did'nt, so I had to do some cutting to make the instrument cluster fit. After I was done all seemed fine the dash worked, lights ect..
Once I started to drive I noticed the Brake light is on all the time and brake is not engaged, The speedometer light comes on but stays at 0, does'nt move.
The other gauges seem to work fine. Then I noticed it won't shift gears when i drive, and if I try manually it begins to slip I started to take the dash back off, has to be electrical, but It just happens to be the coldest day of the month and it snowed last night so Im gonna have to work on it tommorrow.

You messed up your speed sensor signal or computer somewhere along the line.:lol2::lol:

What all did you do on the computer switch?

I just layed the dashes flat out in my driveway and the computers were bolted to the back of the dash on the passenger side. I unbolted them from their bracket, switched them and bolted them back up. I might have left the battery hooked up when I unplugged them, the book says dont do that after I read it later, but I've done that with other cars plenty of times. what is the speed sensor signal, where does it come from the computer?

You need to put the right insturment cliuster back in it and the wiring back like it us.
And the right computer back in it.

It is the right instrument cluster, and the right computer. The only thing I did was change the actual dash and I kept everything thats wired the same.

Double check all fuses and plugins and wiring.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 12 VOLTS ON BOTH SIDES OF FUSES WITH KEY ON.
If brake/abs light is on you have abs codes.
Is the check engine light also on?
Check abs and transmission and engine for codes.
Transmission not shifting and abs/brake light on adds up to speed sensor wiring circuit problem.

I found a big problem Ive been missing. A harness connector that plugs in the side of the ecm i never seen. pluged it in and the speedo works again and tranny shifts. brakes are still lit up but i got the main problem fixed now. sorry for wasting your time for my own stupidity. thanks

No problem.
We all do things like that.
Just glad you got it fixed.
Thanks for posting back what you found and how it went.
Good luck
