door handle won't work (not what you think)

I know there are LOTS of topics about broken door handles but mine is actually not broken, but when it is cold out my door handle won't open, but as soon as it gets warm out or I get a car wash. The door will open up fine.

Sounds like moisture is getting inside and freezing. How are the seals around the door handle/locks? If the little rubber is eaten away, water may be seaping in and freezing.
