I have a 2001 Avalon XLS and the past few months my head lights and dash lights have been flickering. Just recently at night it looks like I have my emergency lights on. Everything else in my car is working fine, my car starts okay and no check lights are on. I don't know anything about cars, so if anyone can help me out I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Do you have the original battery in your car? Does the car's engine sound like it turns over slowly before it starts up? If so, it's probably on it's last stump of a leg. 4-5 years is the typical lifetime, but maybe you got lucky. I'd also check the battery terminals and cables for corrosion. Just a little bit between the cable's connector and the screw-on post can cause poor charging. Finally, if the battery and cables turn out okay, I'd have the alternator checked. It may not be giving the battery and other electrical systems the full charge they need to power everything. Hope this helps!
