My 2000 Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4, 4.7 V8, 3/4 tank of gas, auto stalls very often. I replaced the CPS, Battery, changed the battery terminals, cleaned things up and it still stalls. Sometime at highway speeds, sometimes at stop, just whenever. No lights, no codes, Autozone checked too. The local dealer said I needed a new PDC because this one was not registering any codes.

There is one thing I have noticed. After it stops the fuel gage will read below zero and it will Not restart. After maybe a minute (seems longer when horns are honking) you turn the switch on and the fuel gage reads 3/4, It starts right up. Now when it stalls I don't need to crank it, just wait until the fuel gage read correctly, then it will start. The new CPS did not help at all.
By the way the CPS on mine is on the passenger side just above the starter, have to remove the starter to access it too.
Once when it quit at 40mph I feathered the accelerator and it began running again. Then it quit again and this time I had the little Security Key light on. That only came on once of the 8 times it quit yesterday afternoon within 15 miles. Nice sunny day too.
Anyone have a solution?
Thanks,

i would think a possible loose harness going to the fuel tank. check the condition of the connector and wires. it is located just above the rear dif. in front of the tank. i have had mine short out in that sme area.

Mine was doing that at highway speeds, and it was two open filters (very cheap, less than $15.00 for both) that are on/in the fuel pump. They were clogged. I had to take apart the fuel pump to replace them, or buy a new fuel pump. I have a 99 JGC, and it did not throw any codes either, because it was like it was just running out of gas temporarily. I don't see the point in having an inline fuel filter if the pump filters get clogged with micro particles first.
