95 3.8L - Do these fuel psi leak down numbers sound right for the time elapsed? I put the gauge on and turned the vehicle off and recorded the following:

Operating PSI is currently: 29 psi

Fuel PSI Immediately after shut off @ 1:29 AM: 26 psi
Fuel PSI @ 1:34 AM: 20.5 psi
Fuel PSI @ 1:42 AM: 22.0 psi (yeah I dunno how it went up, but this is right)
Fuel PSI @ 1:44 AM: 18.0 psi
Fuel PSI @ 1:47 AM: 14.0 psi
Fuel PSI @ 1:58 AM: 7.0 psi

After that it always goes to zero.

FYI - I know the initial immediate shut off PSI should be higher, but I have to replace my fuel filter so I know thats why its not higher at the moment. Other than that all components of the fuel system are new besides the injectors.

Carl - For your 96 what does it say your lbs/hr should be for your injectors? In my CD-ROM for my 95 it says 14 lbs/hr though other places on the internet say 15lbs/hr for the 95 3.8L and 14lbs/hr for the 3.0L 95. All 3.8L's 96 and up show 21lbs/hr, but I got that information off a 3rd party web site. Was curious if you could confirm yours for your 96 so I can compare..... and I haven't forgotten about ya'lls HP increase. I just wanna see how close this 3rd party web site is cause I'm doubting my CD-ROM AGAIN.

If this helps you look it up I found this information on the cd-rom in this manner:

1. Visited the 1995 PCED OBDII Table of Contents Pinpoint Tests section
2. Navigated to Fuel Delivery System - Section HC
3.a. Click Introduction section
or
3.b. Click Test HC11 - Check Fuel Injector Leakage and Flow, click <<"caution, handling, and warning">> which leads to the "Introduction Section"

For 1996 the table lists....with a base number of 9F593 for all
3.0L injector P/N F47E-AD Flow #/hour 14 Electrical connector color Gray

3.8L injector P/N F65E-AD Flow #/hour 21 Electrical Connector color Dark Gray

Both injector coil resistance is to be 11-18 ohms

I seem to remember that the color code of the electrical connector indicates flow rate......

Rock Auto indicates that the 1995 3.8L used a different fuel injector than the one used in the 1995 3.8L.....only used that year.
It shows a different part number than the 3.0L motor.....with shows the 3.0L number that I listed as being for 1995-2000

1995 3.8L lists stock number CM4705 with a number of F1ZE along with the F9593 base number.....
Now....this seems to show up under the car application for my '96 (chart lists a bunch of engines in car/truck) that indicates the flow rate of 14#/hour with a Grey electrical connector and coil resistance of 11-18 ohms.

www.motorcraft.com ....in the full line catalog..... lists the stock number of CM4705 with the number of F1ZE-B4C with this number under the 'I'nformation button F1ZE 9F593 B4C

Motorcraft website indicates that this was used ONLY in the 1995 3.8L 'truck' application, but in 1996-1998 in 3.8L car application...I think that would be rear wheel drive application as the FWD 3.8L was only in Windstar from 1996 on.

So....1995 3.8L injector is unique to that year within the Windstar application.

I just love hearing someone else say it instead of everyone else I talk to at the shop or on the phone that either look or sound at me like I'm stark raging mad to even care about this. Thanks again Carl.

EDIT: Yer a bad ass. :)
