Hi,
I just bought a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo. It's an LSE with 61k on it. I have it in the shop right now to fix the Intake Manifold Gaskets--I've got the problems all of you had experienced and that's why I got it for so cheap. My mechanic's doing it for $200 including parts. But I digress. I've never owned a 4wd vehicle so I don't really know the fluids I need to keep up on and how often they're to be changed. I was wondering if you could tell me some maintenance items and the mileage they need to be changed:

Spark Plugs
Differential (don't know what this is or needs)
Transfer Case (ditto)
What kind of oil do you all recommend (synthetic, 4w30?)
transmission fluid

Anything else I need to keep an eye on? I really want to get the gas mileage up as high as I can so I'd like to keep it in top running condition. Thanks!!!

Spark Plugs: 50-60k is a good number.

Differential (don't know what this is or needs) Manual states to change it at: 15k, 30k, 60k, 90k....

Transfer Case (ditto): if you have no history on it I would change the fluid (also, don't forget to turn the 4wd on once a month and drive it a blocka and turn it off; it will help keep all the moving parts, moving for when you really need it).

What kind of oil do you all recommend (synthetic, 4w30?) i personally run synthetic.

transmission fluid: should be changed every 30k (this is the trucks weakest link. Again if you have no history I would have it changed.

Also, clean up the EGR, EGR tube and the PCV. As for MPG, you will see about 17-21 in the summer. See my FAQ link below for more maintance tips.
