96 b2300 front rotorboxeaterbobby 01-21-2009, 08:42 PM how do i remove the front rotor do i need to use a puller cuz mine wont come off i dont know if the bearings are seize up and keeping it from coming off discnik 01-21-2009, 11:22 PM Is there a retaining screw attaching the rotor to the hub ? If the retaining screw is not there, more than likely youyr rotor is rusted to hub. If this is the case then high tech. techniques are required. Usually I use a 2 pound brass hammer and hit the rotor top, bottom, side to side. The hammer MUST be one made of soft metal,i.e. brass, bronze, etc. If not damage to the rotor will occur. boxeaterbobby 01-22-2009, 07:19 PM ive tried a brass hammer and had no luck i was going to try a gear puller but i didnt want to bend the rotor discnik 01-22-2009, 10:24 PM You have checked to make sure the retaining screw is removed from the rotor to hub hole ? I have seen a few that took me a hour to remove. On those I sprayed PB Blaster, (Carquest), in the area around the studs and kept rotating the rotor and soaking it. It will come off, ( eventually). boxeaterbobby 01-25-2009, 11:20 PM i finally got it off the outer bearing was seized to the spindle. any pointers on spindle replacement would be greatly appreciated.
