I have a '05 1500 5.3 and the window sticker says it has an engine block heater but I can't for the life of me find where to plug it it...any ideas?

Usually the cord is bundled and tied to something in the engine bay, like the brake master cylinder. Or the cord may be gone and just the heater is there, typically on the driver's side nearest the firewall...could be a rubber cover over the plug connector. Then you'll have to buy a new cord.

On my 2000 the block heater is on the drivers side towards the back of the block. I can see it looking from the top. If you can see the heater you should be able to follow the cord. I looked at an '09 and the heater was still on the drivers side but at the front of the block. Don't know when they changed them so yours could be either.

I have an '01 Silverado and when i went digging for my blockheater cord I found it zip tied to the frame yet. I cranked the steering wheel to the left and I could see it through the drivers side wheelwell. Not sure if that's where the factory put it, or the previous owner. I'm guessing it was factory, not sure why someone would put it back up in there after using it.

It's been really cold and snowy here and I looked again but didn't have any success...the wheel well is covered with ice and I can't see anything thru there. What I need to do is to look from under the truck and by the time I can do that in my driveway it'll probably be warm enough that I won't need it.

You should be able to see it from the top.
