Suzuki Vitaraiceracer1 01-15-2009, 01:34 PM This will be my next project. In the end of March, my girlfriend will be 18 years old. This the age in Netherland that we can start with drivinglessons for a car. Because she really like jeeps, and especially the Suzuki Escudo (Vitara in EU) I bought a kit of that. I will make the car just like she want it. This is the Fujimi kit I bought. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_001_%28Medium%29~4.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_002_%28Medium%29~4.jpg The car is very small :) http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_003_%28Medium%29~4.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_004_%28Medium%29~4.jpg The upper wheels are the original wheels, and underneath them there are Aoshima rims with the original Suzuki tyres. Don't know wich one I'll use, because I like the stock ones but also the modified ones. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_006_%28Medium%29~3.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_007_%28Medium%29~2.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_008_%28Medium%29~1.jpg The car will be painted black. That's the color she likes the most on this car. The interior will be black also, but with some grey I think. Kris. bri g 01-16-2009, 11:42 AM that's a nice little kit. I would go with the modified wheels myself :) iceracer1 01-16-2009, 01:03 PM that's a nice little kit. I would go with the modified wheels myself :) I also would go for these wheels, but my girlfriend says the original look better.... The model is for her, so she decides what I must do :D SO.... I'll use the original wheels. Kris. jano11 01-16-2009, 02:56 PM Agree with your GF, the original wheels look better suited to the car. She's got good styling sense! kaho 01-19-2009, 02:46 AM Stock rims looks nice! iceracer1 01-20-2009, 06:54 AM I started with sanding the body. Some moldinglines needs to be removed. The sparewheel cover was open on the back. I filled this up, so it's closed now. The original wheels, have laid 2 days in ovencleaner to remove the original chrome paint. They need to be painted in a normal silver color. After all this I primed the parts: http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/primer_001_%28Medium%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/primer_002_%28Medium%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/primer_003_%28Medium%29.jpg Kris. voyageur 01-20-2009, 07:07 AM Hi, nice start! This should look good in black. I'd go for the custom wheels, but your GF decides... Please - do not lower it! It just looks odd on a 4x4 vehicle! iceracer1 01-20-2009, 04:59 PM Hi, nice start! This should look good in black. I'd go for the custom wheels, but your GF decides... Please - do not lower it! It just looks odd on a 4x4 vehicle! It's hard for me to not lower it, but this one will be a 4x4 :) My girlfriend hates lowered cars, especially mine, which is nearly 4cm from the ground :D Kris. Lownslow 01-20-2009, 05:47 PM lift it she wont mind iceracer1 01-21-2009, 05:09 PM Today I did some spraywork. First I painted the chassis in flat black: http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/zwart_001_%28Medium%29.jpg The wheels got some Mica Silver and a clearcoat on it. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/zwart_002_%28Medium%29.jpg The bullbar was painted chrome with spraycan: http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/zwart_003_%28Medium%29.jpg The wheelcover was painted in bodycolor. The color I used is TS-14 Black. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/zwart_004_%28Medium%29.jpg The body also got 4 layers of this paint. I think it's a nice paintjob :) http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/zwart_005_%28Medium%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/zwart_006_%28Medium%29.jpg And a dryfit with the other painted parts: http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/zwart_007_%28Medium%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/zwart_008_%28Medium%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/zwart_009_%28Medium%29.jpg Kris. voyageur 01-23-2009, 07:17 AM Nice paint! You could paint the bumpers and door trim flat black for a bit of contrast... iceracer1 01-23-2009, 11:59 AM Nice paint! You could paint the bumpers and door trim flat black for a bit of contrast... No I like them in bodycolor. It's a kind of luxery :D A friend of my also have this car but a white one and his bumpers are also bodycolor. Kris. TRBJ 01-23-2009, 12:03 PM i rarely see any bad paintjob from TS14 gloss black.. iceracer1 01-23-2009, 05:02 PM 2 days ago, I started with the bad decals. The are very crisp, so I ruined a few :S The others went on very hard, but finally it's done... Some Sol helped me :D The next day I clearcoated the body. I painted 3 layers of TS-13 Clear and I'm really satisfied with the result. Next week I'll polish it. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/blanke_lak_001_%28Medium%29~1.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/blanke_lak_002_%28Medium%29~1.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/blanke_lak_003_%28Medium%29~1.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/blanke_lak_004_%28Medium%29~0.jpg I also started on the chassis. It's not detailed at all, but after wheatering the chassis you won't care about it. At least I wont do that :) I also added the wheels to the chassis and painted the centercaps black. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/blanke_lak_005_%28Medium%29~0.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/blanke_lak_006_%28Medium%29.jpg And a dryfit with the bullbar and other parts: http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/blanke_lak_007_%28Medium%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/blanke_lak_008_%28Medium%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/blanke_lak_009_%28Medium%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/blanke_lak_010_%28Medium%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/blanke_lak_011_%28Medium%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/blanke_lak_012_%28Medium%29.jpg I also painted the lightglasses already, and started with the simple interior. Kris. jano11 01-23-2009, 05:53 PM Looking great! I'm looking forward to see it finished! :) tuned.by.twenty 01-23-2009, 11:15 PM I'm always amazed at the quality of your paint jobs-they're better before polishing than mine after. kaho 01-27-2009, 08:42 PM Looks super nice! Your paint job is wonderful! For some reason I think cars with stock wheels make the entire product look even more realistic. One thing though, did you glue the rear axle on already? Rear wheels seem to lean too much forward. iceracer1 01-29-2009, 04:15 PM Last days I did some little work on various small parts, like the numberplates, lights and other small stuff for the interior. Yesterday I started assembly the interior. The seats are improved with a little detail. I cut the headrest from the seat and made metal axles on it. I also filled up the back of the seat with styrene. After that I painted the seats in semigloss black. The dash and other small parts where painted flat black. I used some grey interiorflocking for the floor and added some chromesilver details on the dashboard. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_001_%28Medium%29~0.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_002_%28Medium%29~0.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_003_%28Medium%29~0.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_004_%28Medium%29~0.jpg Than I got further with the chassis. This needs some wheatering, so I picked up my wheatersets. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_005_%28Medium%29~0.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_006_%28Medium%29~0.jpg Now this was all done, I only had to do the body. Today I started with it and finished it also today :) First I polished the body and waxed it. Than I painted the windowtrims, and the black trim around the windows. After that I placed some bmf on the front and taillights and I also placed the lightglasses. The indicatorlights were also placed on the front. Some small parts like: the wipers, numperplates, mirrors, and the 5th wheel cover were also placed. While this was dry I almost forgot to paint the Suzuki badge in the frontgrill. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_007_%28Medium%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_008_%28Medium%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_009_%28Medium%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_010_%28Medium%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_011_%28Medium%29.jpg This were my left over parts :D http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_012_%28Medium%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_013_%28Medium%29.jpg Now it's finished, and you can see it in the completed forum. Kris. jano11 01-29-2009, 07:18 PM Beautiful! The paint looks excellent and the weathering is very nicely done! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
