Nismo Z & S15 Buildda_ashman 01-06-2009, 07:31 PM Hi everyone, happy new year, hope your well. I needed a quick box stock(ish) build to get me through a burnout period from other more involved builds, and Santa brought me 3 new models, Nismo Z, D1GP S15 & a 66 Hertz Shelby, Thanks Santa!!! So I decided to tackle the Nismo Z & S15 at the same time, Firstly the Z, will be modified a little, I didnt like the fascia so I removed the "teeth" I love the wheels so there gonna go on an R33 GTR at some point, but I decided to use 19" Volk TE37s and also adding Ings Rear wing. S15, was a little disapointed to find that the interior is stock, so its gonna be a street car, pretty much box stock, just omitted the spoiler, also gotta keep the chrome Gold plated wheels, (how offen do you get those in a kit anyway?) So pics (Forgive me im still new here) http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos005-1.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos006-1.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos004-1.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos001-1.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos002-1.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos007.jpg More Pics as they happen, Hope to have these done in a month (or 2, hey im slow at building) endac 01-06-2009, 07:52 PM Looks like two nice projects, looking forward to seeing them progress ffejjeff 01-08-2009, 09:19 AM wow! two nissans in one thread..what will you do to the 350z? nice wheels and sets of wings da_ashman 01-08-2009, 02:07 PM Hi Everyone, small update: The Boss is still on Holiday & while I have to be at work I might as well get some painting done, so. Base Coat - Tamiya PS Gold http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos010-1.jpg Interior Panels, It is very helpful having a reference car in the driveway, so easy to work out what colour each part is, if only I could have an Enzo & Carrara GT in the Driveway that would really make life easier!! http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos009-1.jpg Work bench with Painted Parts http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos008.jpg da_ashman 01-08-2009, 02:16 PM And now some colour First Colour Coat - Tamiya TS52 Cand Lime Green - Looks really cool, in the light all you could see was Gold, it was really hard to paint coz all i keep seeing was Gold http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos016.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos013.jpg Final Colour coat - Tamiya PS Translucent Green - Looks Emerald in the light http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos020.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos018.jpg da_ashman 01-08-2009, 02:21 PM Almost forgot the Z Tamiya TS 76 Silver http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos011-1.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos012-1.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos014-1.jpg Thats All for now folks, now I just have to wait for the paint to dry on the bodies before clearcoating, ill hopefully get some time to start detail painting all the other parts, but im a little busy at the moment, just got my 2 display cabinets delivered so im going through cleaning up old models & fixing the broken parts etc, until next time Ash SuperMele 01-08-2009, 03:13 PM Builded the nismo Z to... was a bit disapointed when i found out that the front weels cant steer... Nice work so far... janositamas 01-09-2009, 07:46 AM Good job on both, nice and clean paintjob for me! I like the S15 color after painting it candy lime over gold, it looks so unique. OK, I know you had to keep the progress going, but that color is hot! Ferrari TR 01-10-2009, 08:37 PM Are you building at work? I would if i could... da_ashman 01-12-2009, 06:40 PM Thanks guys, Yes I was building at work, only painting as we have a room where we do alot of spraypainting (Oh Im a Signwriter by the way) so i just use that room, i tend to do painting at least once a week in my lunch break, but recently the boss was still away on Holiday and I was the only one in the office, so I got a little more done than i usually would have. Now hes back and ill be back to my lunch break painting. Janositamas - Yes I Loved the colour too, so im gonna go out and buy another model to do the same paint job on, i may use a different gold, maybe Tamiyas Champagne Gold Supermele - I know what you mean about the wheels not steering, I was disapointed to see the actual chassis, i had seen pics on the net but to see in person is quite something, you dont realise that everything is molded to the chassis, congrats to Tamiya for molding something so complex, but to detail its a nightmare, only look good from looking straight at it. Ill hopefully have some pics tomorrow, only been brushpainting & detailing so not much to show da_ashman 01-15-2009, 06:32 PM Ok, ive finally got a Photo update: http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos038.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos040-2.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos041-1.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos042-2.jpg I'm considering putting some of the decals on, mainly the Green & metallic Gold Kei Office down the sides & bonnet. What do you guys think? Prortiz80 - The seat belt material is from the Tamiya Ings wing set, its ok, it doesnt look like a seatbelt and looks a little too flimsy & transparent da_ashman 03-03-2009, 02:13 PM Hey guys, ive made some small progress after running into some issues over the weekend. I was fitting the windows for the S15 and when i got them in place i was not happy with the look, all the "glass" is inside the interior, and theres about a 2mm gap to where they should be sitting. So i decided to cut the windows apart and mount them from the outside, im still working on getting the front window into shape, but mostly done. But i got out the camera and took some photos. Let me know what you think.. Bodies & Chassis's waiting to be assembled http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos074.jpg S15 interior with 2 of my Fav magazines http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos068.jpg And now with my Fav drink http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos078.jpg I used Styrene rod in a drill to get the shape http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos072.jpg Interiors waiting for bodies http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/da_ashman/Photos081.jpg Hopefully more progress pics soon, also the Zs coming together well, typical Tamiya quality Thanks heaps Ash axiom 03-04-2009, 04:58 AM wow!
