Hey guys, I thought I’d introduce myself here along with my first project for many years. I used to enjoy assembling the Burago snap together kits when I was younger and although I made a few attempts at kits involving paint and glue I never managed to get very far with most still needing completion.
However I am now 21 and a mechanical engineer and since I am a BMW fan I was given the gift for Christmas of a Fujimi 1/24 scale Schnitzer S5 which I think I’m not doing too bad a job of painting it so far.
As you can see from the pictures I’m by no means an artist but hopefully the end result will do some justice to the real machine and its precision German engineering. The colour choice is green for the outside with a tan interior
Hopefully I can be helpful here on the forums and not a hindrance to anyone.

The body is painted with brushes?:uhoh: And isn't it better when you paint parts after you cut them out of the sheets? You'll have some white spots after you've cut them off.

(Sorry for my English)

Nice car subject! Do you have access to any airbrush? That can really improve your painting skills, especially with the interior and chassis, which does show heavy brush strokes. The exterior looks nice and smooth and shiney.

Everyone has to start somewhere, nice work thus far. I like the colour you've chosen for the body. Looking forwards to seeing this finished, and welcome to AF!

Thanks for the welcome, the colour was chosen for me because its pretty close to the colour of my real bmw. I was expecting to fail miserably at the painting but so far i'm finding it pretty relaxing.

Thanks, i think i'm starting to be a bit more confident as this project progresses which is making me want to dig out the old kits i had and make another attempt at them.

Looks good.
I've always wanted a green 5 (full scale), the used car lot across the street from work has a green 5 right up front too. It looks rather like the one i built years ago, ill see if i can dust it off.

Thanks. I'm a big BMW fan, love the older models especially the E34 and E36.

More progress, got the dashboard and door cards fixed in place. The underside of the chassis is almost finished too and got the front headlights finished as well.
