My step-son has a '99 Rodeo that was involved in a minor accident, damage to drivers front corner, and now it won't start. It has no power to the fuel pump, gas gauge no longer works, and it will not start. The motor will turn but not run. We have provided power to the pump and it runs but cannot get it to start. Is there some kind of safety cut-off switch or something? Any help would be appreciated.

Remove the front bumper and grill and check the wiring that runs along the radiator support. Usually that gets pinched/cut in a wreck and causes the problem.

I agree with Gizmo42 (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=381441). I bought a 94 rodeo and looked for the crash cut off that I got from other forums. This is the only forum that seems to know what is up. The wire to the computer that controls the fuel system is in the harness in the bumper.

you hit the nail on the head found a spot in the harness that didn't look cut but was dinged by a bolt. opened up the harness and found a black w/ blue wire that was broken. put it back together and all the problems went away. thanks for your help.

Glad you got it fixed. I only knew about it from the forums with others posting the same problem after a wreck and thats what it turned out to be.
