I have a 97 Regal LS, 173kms and am seeing the "Low coolant" light come on intermintely. There are no leaks under the car. The cooling system was flushed in early 2008 and thermostat changed. Water pump changed 2005.

The temp gauge is always at normal once the car has driven

Just to mention the coolant bottle brown hose has broken off. Could this be affecting the readout and triggering the low coolant light to come on/off?

Any suggestions/ideas appreciated

If this is the hose from the coolant reservoir that goes back to the radiator filler neck neck yes. Best thing to do is with engine cold, remove radiator cap and check coolant level directly at the radiator. Add proper type of anti-freeze if needed.

Also, some old Dex-cool sludge regardless of the flush can cause contamination of the level sensor located about 3 inches below the radiator filler neck or the sensor could be bad. See pic below. You can access the level sensor by removing the passenger side headlamp assembly.
