Are ther any online sites to check to see if your vehicle came with a remote or capable of having one. I have a 1997 4dr sable with power locks. Bought it used and didn't have a remote with it.

You could check and see if your car is equiped with a Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module. For 1996 and newer, the module is located under the dash.

The best thing to do however is to call a dealer. Usually, the parts department can tell you if your car is so equipped if you give them the VIN number. They can 'run' your VIN number to see what options were installed on your car when new.
