99 tahoe speaker problems

just bought a 99 tahoe lt, has the am/fm/cassette with cd below, problem is when you turn it on it sounds as if only the tweeters are working. is it the amp? head unit? any help would be very appreciated!!

this is very possible...the front speakers are of poor quality...the speaker coil opens ,then you only have the tweets....
with an ohm meter measure the resistance, if open replace with a high quality 4-6ohm speaker and use the connector in the defective speaker to make connections ...you may need soldering iron...
