My 96 AT (project car) has been sitting for approx 1 month. During this time I would go out and start it and let it run for about 30 min once every other week. The last time I couldn't get it to crank but it did turn over. During this process of attempting to start it I killed the batt. I charged it, put it back and now it wont turn over!!! Everything comes on but it wont crank! I tried everything I can think of...move shifter, check fuses, attempt to jump with Tahoe, lock & unlock driver door with key! Any help because I'm about to roll it down a hill into traffic!

... about to roll it down a hill into traffic!

Wait for a police car for maximum effect...

Does the starter motor solenoid ('below batt') click audibly?

Typically the GND cable & chassis attachment rots away, Check out. To test, use starter jumper cable from negative pole to some engine bolt.

Second issue is the batt, maybe its now dead: it can supply few amps to lamps etc, but can supply the 500Amps to starter - dies. Look at main lights; do the dim out?

I hope yout Tahoe alt is still alive? Never jumpstart while engine running but only with a battery.
