This Is A Warning To Anyone Thinking Of Buying An Engine From Beck Racing Engines In Arizona.I Orderd An Engine Back In July, paid Over 12,00.00 And Never Recieved A Thing.the Attorney Generals Office In Arizona Doesn't Seem To Be Doing Much About It Either.if You Google Up This Buisness Name You Will See I Am Not The Only One They Have Ripped Off.I Am Posting This So No One Else Has To Loose There Money Like Myself And Others Have.

Steve,

That doesn't sound like Frank (Beck). Is he still running that shop? I knew him years ago. Not to "dis" your post, I assure you. Just asking.

For future reference, and for all others reading this, the better shops will not ask for 100% of the money up front. They will, however, ask for anywhere from 25% to 60% down, the remainder payable on completion. This makes sure both parties (customer AND shop) have "skin in the game". The shop's incentive to finish the job is to get the balance. The customer's incentive to actually pick it up when it's done, is their "deposit" could be forfeit if they don't in a timely manner. This helps keep BOTH parties "honest".

FWIW

Yes,it's FRANK BECK from beck racing engines.I orderd an engine from him in July.I talked to him on the phone about what I wanted and we agreed to a price and he said he could start building the engine after he recieved a deposit of half down.To which I agreed and sent him a deposit. He called me 30 days later and said engine was about done and to send him remaining balance so he could ship out engine.I sent remaining balance and waited about two weeks.I called and was told he was to busy to come to phone, this went on for three days.finally I called and demanded to speak to him and he got on the phone and he said my engine still needed to go on the dyno.OK I waited three more weeks and called back. Now he tells me that the intake hasn't come back from being polished.Hold on here I said, you told me engine was done.He didn't know what to say.then he said engine would definetly be done in two weeks.I waited two more weeks and called again no one will answer phones. That was back in october and to this day they still wont answer the phone.I know he is still in buisness because I had a friend call and they answerd the phone.finally I contacted the BBB and the attorney generals office in Arizona and haven't heard a thing yet.
