The bolt that holds the armrest to the drivers seat on my 2001 voyager broke. It is a rather unusual bolt about 3 inches long, half of which is threaded, and the rest is the sliding surface where the armrest pivots. The head is Torx.

I am curious if these can be purchased anywhere online.

You can get one from the dealer only or your nearest auto wrecking yard.Is the threaded part still in?If this is the case you will have drill it and use an easy out.Stay away from the spiral easy outs, expands on the broken fastner too much.I prefer the straight fluted easy out over the spiral ones

I was hoping to avoid the dealer, only because I am working too many hours lately, and the parts counters generally close early. I keep forgetting to deal with it at other times, since I am so busy. Ordering the bolt online, and waiting for it to eventually appear in the mail is just simpler for me.

A year ago, I was able to mail order the really strange bulbs that Chrysler uses in the instrument cluster from an obscure parts company. Difference is, I had a part number from the factory manual, so I could search the internet for the bulbs.

I have tried the online Chrysler dealers like PartsForMyChrysler.com, MoparPartsAmerica.com, and Moparpartz.com and the like, but they don't list a bolt for the front seat armrest, only the back seat armrest. BTW: I have had good results getting parts at MoparPatz.com for good prices. I definitely recommend them.

Apparently this is a common problem, since I have had hits for classified ads for used vans with a broken drivers Armrest.

I forgot to mention, I was really lucky the bolt was loose when the bolt broke. There was just enough of the threaded part sticking out of the seat that I could grab onto the part left in the seat using my fingernails. It would be a real bear to remove that with a screw extractor.

I might just borrow the bolt from the passenger seat for now, and wait til after the holidays.

A junk yard would be a good source. Call the dealer and ask if they are in stock if he says yes ask for the part number. Or ask if they will mail you the bolt if you give a Visa number. If you are certain this is the part ask your wife to pick it up if you have the number she would probably do it so make sure they give you the number.

Plus the dealer might need the vin too and I know about it,the last 8 of the vin to get the part. This is most dealerships are ordering parts by the vin and is the future at auto parts stores which has not happen yet.

Ok I found some time over the Holidays to get to my local dealer. They didn't have the part in stock, so we squinted at the printout of the microfiche. We had to guess which of two bolts it was, and we ordered it. About a week later, I was able to pick it up. When I got home, it was the wrong bolt. :banghead:

PLEASE: where can I get it Online!

Call the parts man back and get the part number of the other one. Ask him to order it and use priority mail. I think they will do this for you. Visa over the phone.

Is it the same number as I gave you in post #6 in this thread ? The link I gave in the post is for a dealer site. You can download the parts fiche at that site.

Thanks for your help. I did not notice the part number in your post #6. The site you linked me to is one of the "trademotion.com" sites that give Chysler dealers a web front end for ordering parts. I had already exhausted that avenue with my favorite, MoparPartz.com. I could not find any "Armrest bolts" at moparpartz.com using keywords. The best I could do was to buy the whole armrest.

Searching MoparPartx.com using the part number you provided yeilded a part I can order with the following description:

Seats and tracks - Front seat components - Armrest - Screw
Screw Back - 2001-05 2001 - 2005

However, I can't figure out where to find downloadable fiche at MoparPartz.com or at ContemporaryChryslerDodge.com.

There are two bolts used with the armrest, and they are differant. One is used as the pivot point for the armrest, and it has a rounded screw head on it to hold the armrest on. The second bolt slides in a channel as the armrest moves, and provides the end of travel stop. The 2nd bolt looks a lot like the 1st bolt, except that it does not have a head on it. My local dealer ordered the 2nd bolt, I need the first. I can't find the receipt right now, so I don't know the part number I received, or which bolt is part# 6503287.
