Long time reader, first time posting...I was having trouble with the front axle engaging on my '98 GMC Jimmy. Without this forum, I would have probably taken it to a 4x4 shop or a dealer.

I had a 2-3 inch section of rotten hose that was screwing with the A/C vents. It was also prohibiting the front axle from kicking in--found out when I couldn't make it up a hill and little FWD cars could:rolleyes:

With the wealth of info in the Blazer Problem Diagnosis subforum I was able to trace the leak myself and repair it for the cost of a vacuum hose and a vac coupler. About 5.00 total.

I can't imagine what an unscrupulous shop would have charged--even an honest shop would have charged 1-2 hrs labor, which goes for 80.00 'round here.

Making a long story short, this site rules, and it probably saved me at least 200 bucks, maybe more. Way to go!
