98 Tahoe stay with CPI or upgrade to MPI?kstar24 12-10-2008, 03:17 PM I am back again this time just asking for input and recommendations. 98 Tahoe 4x4, 230,000 miles 5.7 engine. I have been told that I have an injector that is shorting out causing the ECM fuse to blow. Recommendation is to replace the spider assembly, since we are unsure which injector is causing the problem. Looking for opinions regarding weather to staying with the central port injector system, or upgrading to the multiport injector system. Is it difficult to change to the multiport sytem? I have found a website that I can get an OEM reman for 199.99 with 2 year, 24000 mile warranty. For either the CPI or the MPI Thank you in advance or your input. kstar24 12-16-2008, 03:46 PM Does anyone have any input for me? Good or bad I don't care. Thanks 2000CAYukon 12-16-2008, 10:42 PM The MPFI eliminates the poppet nozzles so that is one benefit. The MPFI does not require any special modifications. Everything I have read/heard indicates that the MPFI is a better way to go; although, it usually costs a little more. //2000CAYukon vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
