O.k. I am sure this has been asked 1000 times but with my limited time I was not able to find info on this subject in the FAQ or other threads. Does anybody know a good way to scratch build some 12 inch speakers, I am building a system for my project Del Sol. I know I can buy some but if anyone knows how to scratch build them It may make it a little easier on me. I just do not have as much time as I would like to order certain parts (I would rather make my own anyway, it's more custom that way). any info will greatly be appreciated!!!!

Sony makes the "In-Ear" headphones and that is what I used one time.

It wasnt for me, I did it for a buddy of mines lowrider and basicly you take them out of the headphones and I built a small box for them, and the jack was tucked inside the body and could be pulled out to be pluged into a music source.

They do not need to work even though that sounds cool, I just need them to look real. And I know I can buy them from Pegasus but I am looking for a scratch built method.

anyone ever thought about using those lil MP3 players puttin it in the trunk of a model car and replace the "speakers" with the earpiece? to give the model real sounds?

never thought about using my mp3 as the cars sound. i doubt mine will fit in the trunk though. plus if i could figure out how to get the music onto my mp3 it might help too.

I used 'earbud' speakers for my Camaro. I cut the plastic covering and copper ring out of them and just painted them from there. They might look better if you didn't remove the plastic and such. Here's a pic...don't know how well you can see them there.
