91 dodge caravanDragonreaper 12-08-2008, 11:35 AM ok.. so i have this P.O.S caravan. was a great vehicle in its time. but now it has allot of problems, cant afford to get a new vehicle, so i have to settle with fixing this thing =( anyways... the van broke down and we discovered that the computer brain of the van was dead, and we are trying to find a new one.. with no luck.. we have gotten close, but its only been a brain for a 1990 or 92.. no 91. and we were told that for this year model, the brain must be a 1991 brain.. does anyone know of any place that might have it, or if this is true, that we HAVE to have a 1991 caravan brain for this vehicle? any help would be much appreciated. P.S. i know getting a new one is cheaper in the long run, but with having to do payments on 2 other cars, and a loan that is on one of them, just dont have the money. RIP 12-08-2008, 03:25 PM I've read you must use the identicle part number PCM. That can make it tough finding one for a 91 in a junk yard. Most yards have been scoured many times over for PCMs. You could try these guys: http://bbb-carb.com/chrycomputer.htm There are several places you can send your PCM to to get repaired for around $150 -$250. 96tsport 12-08-2008, 04:44 PM I've read you must use the identicle part number PCM. Same deal for TCM/TCUs? wolfdog46 12-29-2008, 10:53 PM If you lived close to lower Delaware, I have a 91 thats running but won't kick out of low gear. I put a new windshield in it about 6 months ago. I'd let the whole thing go for less then someone quoted for the brain. But you probally live too far away. Thats usually the way it goes. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
