Recently acquired an 82 Datsun 280ZX from local Police auction. Great deal. Awesome car. Working on getting this almost 1 owner car sorted out. Looks to be in great condition, solid everywhere. Started up on first crank. Looking to put an EFI 340 Chrysler in it in future(6 months to 1 year from now). Anyone put a Chrysler small block in one before, I saw all kinds of chevy stuff, but I am a Mopar guy not what we refer to as a brand X guy. I figure looking at a chevy conversion would be closest but just asking for pointers, and general help.

I will be using a 1967-1970 340 block, forged steel 3.31" stroke crank, factory forged rods, .020 or .030 over forged Ross lightweight pistons undecided on comp ratio. Mopar W2 heads- 2.02" int and 1.65" ex ported, and a new Edelbrock SB Chrys Multi-point EFI. and maybe Hooker block huggers.

Again, any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry, but I'm a GM guy, and that sounds complicated and redundant. The Chevy stuff is the way to go.

american cars are worth of shit, they break down and you are constantly fixing something.but the parts are cheap$.

Right on hazcc280, you get what you pay for cheap shit. I would just get the engine rebuilt with a bigger turbo and intercooler that would produce more power for less price. Nothing personal on American cars, but they go after 100,000 miles.
