2000 GS Fuel pump resistor/bypass???Dagvelia 12-06-2008, 12:41 PM I've searched the forums and I'm leaning towards the idea that my fuel pump resistor is bad. My car will start and then die after a second or 2 unless I give it some gas, about 2500rpm's or so. When the car is warmed up it's ok. I bent back the 85 pin on the fuel pump relay to bypass the resistor but the car won't start at all with the pin bent. I took the car to the dealer and they said the coil pack and plug wires were bad and replaced them. Cost $550. It didn't change a thing. Can anyone lend their advise on this? Thanks... BNaylor 12-06-2008, 02:08 PM Welcome to AF. You sure you bypassed the right relay? You are supposed to do the fuel pump speed control relay which should be #18 and not the main fuel pump relay #19. Best to check fuel pressure at the front fuel rail to see if it is in specs to rule out a fuel supply problem such as the fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator. Dagvelia 12-06-2008, 09:32 PM Hmmm... I'll check that tomorrow and get back to you. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
