Does anyone know how to install a serpentine belt on an 89 Suburban without including the air conditioning compressor?

I believe the only way is to install the universal bypass pulley that goes where the compressor was-- or to just get a junk compressor that still has a good pulley and just let the belt run over that...- or replace the pulley and bearing on your current compressor- with a used one.....
