Help Please

I have a 2006 montana sv6. just wondering how i get the piston back into the caliper on my rear disc brakes.

Will it not go in, or do you just not know how? I usually use a C-clamp. I crank it back in slowly. I never add brake fluid, so I do not remove the cap to the brake fluid resevoir. It just fills back up somewhat when the piston is pushed back in. You have to kind of watch the rubber boot around the piston to make sure it tucks back in nicely. You don't want it to get pinched when the brakes are applied. Hope this helps.

Actually i have never seen a caliper like this before. There is a spring that kinda wraps around the caliper and emergency brake cable is there aswell. I used a c clamp like you normally would but this piston is solid, it wont even budge, it kinda looks like it not suposed to move but how can that be.

are there 2 holes in the end of the piston, the part that would be up against the pad?

I think what JabbaTHutt is getting at is that you have to turn that piston back in, you don't push it back. If you have a local autozone they will loan you the tool to do it or, if you will be doing it often you can just buy the tool.

Well the thing is if it has these holes its going to take a special tool or a couple people to do this. The tool is made so that when you turn it it also pushes it back. Was at a buddies shop last week when a mazda was in turns out buddies tool didn't fit it so he borrowed a kit that was supposed to fit it and seems mazda changed the size so we ended up doing a macgiver.
