I have a 1973 GMC Sierra that has a bad cab. I bought a 86 Chevrolet Silverado for parts that has a good cab. Does anyone know if it is possible to swap these cabs?

The cab mounts should be the same all the way up to the '88 body style change. It reminds me of an old 78 Blazer project I did a few years ago. The body had rusted out, so I bought a cab and bed from an 84 Silverado. I cut down the bed and made my own rear cab and bed mounts. Turned out pretty cool.

Good luck with it!

Thanks for your help. Now I can go on with the project and not have to worry about useless work.

Youll have to use the 86 front clip because the hoods are different. If you notice the 86 hood doesnt go back to the windshield it stops short at the cowl panel. 73 doesnt have a cowl panel. The front of the hood is different too so you cant just swap hoods either. To do this legally youll have to get a reconstructed title or questions will arise because it looks like an 86 but title reads 73.
