2001 Dodge ¾ ton diesel

Problems with starting. Will turn over but won’t fire up until you use ether. Once it warms up, it runs good. If you shut it off again it won’t start.

I just went through that.
Do you know the lift pump fuel pressure? The injector pump must have fuel delivered to it, factory spec is at least 10psi idle. How long since a fuel filter change? Does it sit a long time?
Mine was a bad injector pump.
