2002 Accord tick noiserrmacman 11-29-2008, 08:30 PM Got a 2002 Honda 4 cyl LX about 64000 miles. I can hear a tick, tick, tick, tick noise while my car is moving. I cant hear it from inside the car, i hear it best when driving along side something where the sound of my car echos off of. From what i can tell it doesnt sound like its coming from the engine but from the wheels on the drivers side (wasnt able to hear anything from passenger side). I am not sure if its the front or the back wheel because its kind of hard to tell from a echo off the wall. Could this be a wheel bearing or cv joint? thanks jeffcoslacker 11-30-2008, 12:38 PM Could be, but it's most likely brake hardware. A shim out of place or a missing pad locator spring can make a click with every wheel revolution. CV joints make noise when the wheels are turned sharply and get really loud when you give it gas with wheels turned, wheel bearings don't usually produce noise at low speed, but rumble or moan at higher speed. Hubcaps can make weird noises too. Ticks are common. I suspect you have alloy wheels, however. But if not, check it. somick 11-30-2008, 02:47 PM If you back up (empty parking lot) like jeff suggested with wheels sharply turned, you will hear clicking noise when your CV joint is bad.
