I'm really hoping to get into a 68 Camaro at the start of the new year but I lack the expertise to decipher the stats and know if i'm getting a good deal or not. Could you guys give this post a once over and let me know what you think of the car and what a fair price would be?

Body looks like shit(I've seen worse) and it looks like it was "painted" to try to cover shit up. The interior and engine look to be the better part off this deal. As long as the frame is good, I'd get it but would still try to talk them down a lil.

That thing is on it's way to be an absolutely full-on race car regardless of what the ad says. Personally, I think it's a special-purpose customized car and, unless you are specifically looking for a vintage street racer, I think you should look elsewhere.

$13K in todays market will get you a very decent stock Camaro that does not need any finishing. Again, unless you really want race car project, you may be happier with something else.

If you do buy this, hammer the guy hard on the price. This car will be a hard sell for him. Many people are getting scared due to the current economic conditions and buyers with $13K to spend on a project are hard to come by.

A few concerns:
4.56 gears will make for a very high-revving engine at highway speeds which will get old very quickly.

Why all the new body panels? Is it a rusty car from the North or has it been in an accident? Beware of additional, unseen damage.

It still needs thousands of $$ to finish and to do decent paint and body. IMO unless you enjoy doing body work, consider this car will cost you $ 20K total when finished.

Finally, a stock, original Camaro SS will generally be worth more in the long run than a modded car in the same condition.
